What does this promotion to senior partner mean to you, both personally and professionally?

‘This promotion is a milestone in my career, both personally and professionally. It is the result of years of dedication, commitment and perseverance. Especially the sacrifices I have made in work-life balance make this moment extra meaningful.

It is also a great vote of confidence from my partners, a recognition of the commitment and skills they have noticed since I started at Laurius eight years ago. In addition, this promotion reflects the core values we uphold at Laurius: integrity, quality of work and cooperation.

Moreover, this is an important signal to our employees. It shows that Laurius values talent, commitment and the desire to grow together.’

How do you see your role in Laurius’ future growth and development?

‘This promotion gives me new energy to continue the work my partners and I have built up over the past few years. Our goal remains the same: to keep Laurius as a reference in the mid-market and continue to excel in delivering top-quality services, always paying attention to our clients’ needs.

Our focus is on organic growth, attracting new talent who share our values. We do not strive for growth for growth’s sake, but want to preserve Laurius’ DNA. That revolves around excellence, expertise and strong personal relationships with our clients. This allows us to maintain a size that fosters proximity and trust.

This new phase also offers opportunities to strengthen our position on the French-speaking market, especially in Brussels and Wallonia. We see a lot of potential for further development and visibility there.’

What trends or challenges in the legal sector currently inspire you, and how is Laurius responding to them?

‘The legal sector is changing rapidly, especially with technological innovations such as artificial intelligence transforming the way we practice our profession. At Laurius, we believe it is crucial to embrace these innovations to stay competitive, while sticking to what makes us strong: providing creative, tailored solutions for our clients.

AI increases efficiency, but what distinguishes an excellent lawyer remains relational intelligence and the ability to understand human nuances. We strive for a synergy between technology and the human factor so that we can continue to provide our clients with legal advice that inspires confidence.
